Sept 09, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —- The five days workshop conference in Torit, which was organized by National ministry of health on mass distribution of mosquito nets, ended on Monday.
The conference which was organized at Green Garden Hotel in Torit municipal council was attended by one hundred participants from Torit County.
Torit county medical director, Mathew Ohide, warns communities of Torit County of the new Imatong state of using mosquito nets for fishing and mending (tying) houses and huts citing that it is against the health policy.

Ohide further calls on the citizens to cooperate with the registers during house to house registration exercise.
He disclosed that similar training will be extended to other counties as an effort to eradicate malaria in the state.
Ohide further said communities will be enlightened on the use of mosquito net before distributions.
“Torit County participants agreed to be paid per planned budget by national ministry of health,” Ohide said.
Ohide added that the government’s strategy of mass distribution of Mosquito nets aimed at malaria prevention.
“Prior One hundred registrars’ boycotted training on Long Lasting Insecticide treated Mosquito Nets,” He said.
On Thursday the population services international (PSI) organization in collaboration with National and Imatong state ministry of health and environment organized training on Long Lasting Insecticide treated Mosquito Nets at Torit Guest house, Imotong state, with the purpose to train volunteers on how to register people in their residential areas and how to distribute mosquito nets to locals at their respective places
The population services international (PSI) organization said volunteers were complaining of the payment saying it is too low as according to the program, Fifty South Sudanese pound only (SSP50) per a registrar in eleven days and mangers fifty South Sudanese pound only for twenty one days was way too low.
One Hundred participants demanded two hundred and fifty South Sudanese pound for eleven days and twenty one days per daily services and training incentives of SSP50.
Speaking to Nyamilepedia press team over the phone, Bakhit Sebit Lemi, a medical entomologist from national Ministry of Health, said there is limit in budgets as was designed by the national Ministry of health for twenty eight States which he said has no power to increase or decrease the volunteers’ demand.
