Sep 29, 2020(Nyamilepedia) — The newly self-imposed Chairman and Commander-in-Chief of the South Sudan United Front/Army, Dr. Emmanuel Sunday de John, has appointed new executive officials to stablize his parallel armed opposition movement, the SSUF/A-Sunday de John faction.
Citing the Constitution of the SSUF/A and the meeting of the Interim National Executive Committee of the same group, Sunday issued multiple decrees to install his new officials.
Through his latest decrees, Sunday has appointed Hon. Matthew Majok Madhieu as Press Secretary in the office of the Chairman and Commander-In-Chief i.e. in his own office.
“By the authority vested in me by Article 8.1.1 (iv) of the Constitution of South Sudan United Front/Army and following thorough deliberation by the Interim National Executive Committee during its sitting of September 26“, 2020 and as part of SSUF/A re–configuration; I, Dr. Emmanuel Sunday de John, Interim Chairman and Commander–In–Chief, South Sudan United Front/Army, hereby order as follows” Sunday’s decree reads.
“Appoint Hon. Matthew Majok Madhieu as Press Secretary Office of the Chairman and Commander-In-Chief. Further task him with all responsibilities of the said office. Authorize him to commerce such responsibilities immediately.” The decree continued.
In another decree, Sunday has appointed Maj.Gen. Kawai Babuoth Ruot as the Interim Deputy Chairman of the National Executive Committee(NEC).
“Appoint Hon. Maj. .Gen. Kawai Babuoth Ruot as the Interim Deputy Chairman, National Executive Committee(NEC). Authorized him to commerce his responsibilities as per Article 8.1.2 immediately” Sunday wrote in his appointment decree.
These and other decrees are to become effective from the date of their signatures or immediately.
The former Secretary General, Dr. Sunday de John, broke ranks with Malong in a croversial circumstances where he is accused of leaking the party documents and confidential informations to Salva Kiir’s security apparatus, an accusation that Nyamilepedia could not immediately verify.
Although Sunday has denied the accusations, he seized officials accessories and social media accounts leaving Malong’s faction with little to prove their legitimacy.
Malong’s new press secretary, Nyamach Nyang Chuol, has wrote to media houses calling on Sunday de John to stop using Malong’s stamp and letterheads threatening that their faction would file a lawsuit against Sunday.
“South Sudan United Front/Army urges Sunday De John to cease from using the office of the Chairman letter heads and stamps as his own with immediate effect and would like to appreciate him for his contribution to the movement in his former position.” Nyamach writes to Sunday.
