January 17th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan army, SSPDF,  and the SPLA-IO led by the country’s former First Vice-President Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon said on Tuesday that they will attack Cirilo if he don’t join ongoing peace effort.

South Sudan’s army Chief Gen. Gabriel Jok Riak and SPLA-IO Deputy Chief of General Staff for Administration and Logistics Gen. James Koang Chuol Ranley issued the threat during a meeting of the Joint Defense Board (JDB) in Juba on Tuesday.

Gen. Jok Riak said if Cirilo fail to join the agreement and continue to kill people and raping them, the peace partners will not stand and watch.

“When things became to unabated situation [and] if he (Cirilo) can not listen we can not just stand and watch while he is doing what he think to be for his benefit,” Gen. Jok said.

For his part,  the SPLA-IO DCGS for Administration and Logistics Gen. James Koang who said Cirilo is not a threat in term of forces urged the international community to convince Cirilo to come to the table of negotiations and join peace process.

“Is not a big threat in term of forces but is a threat because is out of peace that’s why we are urging the people to let him join peace,” Koang said.
