February 28th 2020 (Nyamilepedia) – Some South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA) leaders will write to asked President Salva Kiir again to chose ministers after new disagreements emerged over division of ministerial positions, a senior opposition official said.
Last week, disagreement emerged over who should be nominated for vice-president representing SSOA in the six-men presidency.
Some SSOA leaders asked Kiir to chose – among four names submitted – who would be the vice-president.
Kiir later on chosed Gen. Hussein Abdelbaggi to represent the opposition consortium. Some including the National Democratic Movement (NDM) led by Dr. Lam Akol rejected the move.
Speaking to Nyamilepedia this morning, a senior opposition official belonging to National Salvation Front (NAS) led by Gen. Khalid Boutrous said disagreements have emerged again over division of ministerial positions.
The Alliance is entitled to three ministerial positions and one deputy minister, according to the revitalized peace agreement.
“There is a new disagreement over ministerial division. Because we couldn’t reach an agreement, we will send a list to president Salva to chose like he did with the vice-president,” he said.
