March 11, 2017(Nyamilepedia) —– A recently formed South Sudan Democratic Front(SSDF) has declared allegiance to the newly formed National Salvation Front(NSF), forcing the former to dissolve.
Dr. Lako Jada Kwajok, the chairman and commander-in-chief of the dissolved SSDF, declared that he is dissolving his party and pledging allegiance to work under Lt. Gen. Thomas Cirillo Swaka, as his new chairman and commander-in-chief.
According to Dr. Lako, Gen. Cirillo has correctly identified South Sudan problem and therefore every South Sudanese should join him to salvage the country.
“The leadership of SSDF met today and unanimously decided to dissolve decided to dissolve the movement, and unconditionally join hands with our brothers and sisters in National Salvation Front(NAS) under the leadership of Lt. Gen. Thomas Cirillo Swaka” Dr. Lako said
“We believe that in our current predicament, the priority, as correctly identified by NAS is unity of the people, which is paramount for salvation from tyranny and realization of the common goal” Dr. Lako continued.
Despite that Gen. Cirillo defected without an army, small oppositions groups, which barely survived on their own, see Cirillo’s defection as another opportunity to reinvigorate their ideologies and survival.
Dr. Lako’s party is not the first to dissolve in favor of working under Gen. Thomas Cirillo. Cobra faction under Gen. Khalid Bora has also dissolved and declared allegiance to NSF.
Other groups in negotiation with Gen. Thomas Cirillo include Dr. Lam Akol and Joseph Bakasoro factions.
SPLM/A-IO has also seen at least one general defecting to Cirillo’s National Salvation Front.
