May 11th, 2018(Nyamilepedia) — South Sudan’s SPLM/A in Opposition welcomes a decision by the supreme office of the United States of America to end partnership with Salva Kiir administration.
According to Mabior Garang de Mabior, the Chairperson of the SPLM National Committee for Information and Public Relations, the SPLM/A is “enthused by the judicious position taken by the administration of President Donald Trump.”
Although it is yet to be seen, the SPLM/A-IO believes that this decision will curve the intransigence of Mr. Kiir’s administration.
“This wise position will go a long way in curbing the intransigence of the regime, which has been encouraged by their their misinformation to the previous U.S Administration” Said Mabior Garang de Mabior, the Chairperson of the SPLM National Committee for Information and Public Relation.
The top armed opposition reiterates its commitment to the IGAD Peace Process and to a political settlement, negotiated in good faith.
Two days ago, Washington declared that South Sudan government, under Salva Kiir, has lost credibility and legitimacy.

“The Government of South Sudan has lost credibility, and the United States is losing patience.” The White House continued.
“We assess that the Transitional Government of National Unity in South Sudan is no longer inclusive. The forced exile of key leadership representatives who signed the ARCSS further demonstrates the Kiir regime’s cynical repudiation of the peace process. ” The Trump Administration added.
The Trump administration calls for an inclusive Transitional Government of National Unity that will silent the guns and brings peace and stability to South Sudan.
“The United States remains committed to working with regional leaders to bring peace and stability to South Sudan, and we commend Ethiopia’s efforts. However we are deeply frustrated with the lack of progress toward an agreement” The White House Press Statement states.
