August 20, 2020 (Nyamilepedia) – The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) faction under the leadership of General Abdel Aziz Adam al-Hilu has withdrawn from peace talks in Juba today in opposition to the leadership of General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo to the Sudanese government delegation, sources have said.

“We have withdrawn this morning from the peace talks. What we want is the removal of Hemeti as the dead of the government delegation and the entire peace talks. You know Hemeti has been a criminal who participated in massacres in both Darfur and the Nuba mountains,” senior opposition official of the SPLM-N told Nyamilepedia from Juba this morning.

“How can such individuals be a chief negotiator for peace talks?” the opposition official asked.

The SPLM-N faction led by Malik Agar signed a provisional peace deal with the government yesterday. The agreement provided for the integration of rebel forces into the Sudanese army and how to professionalize the army.
