December 1, 2021—The South Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO) led by the First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny will convene its 4th National Liberation Council meeting tomorrow in the capital, Juba.
The SPLM-IO meeting, which will be conducted on Thursday under the theme “Towards Democratic, United and Prosperous South Sudan”, will be held at the Freedom Hall from December 2nd, 2021.
Mr. Puok Both Baluang, the SPLM-IO Director of Information and Public relations, said
the meeting will discuss the issues to do with peace implementation of the revitalized peace agreement signed in 2018.
According to the insiders, the meeting aims at completing the organization of the National Liberation Council (NLC) and discussing the implementation of the Revitalized Peace Agreement.
The statement further stressed that, participants will include members of National Liberation Council (NLC), SPLM-IO members representing the group in the reconstituted national legislature, state chairpersons, deputy chairpersons and secretary-generals.
Last February, the SPLM-IO conducted its first conference in the capital Juba which was attended by representatives from different party organs.
