Jan 22, 2017(Nyamilepedia) —– A top member of SPLM in Opposition, who has served as a minister of Agriculture and Animal Resources, in former Unity State, Joseph Madak Both Wuol, has resigned and defected to SPLA-IG, Juba.

Both, a former Director General in the Directorate of Policy Research and Monitoring(OoP), did not give many reasons for leaving the Opposition.

“I am therefore wishes [wishing] to inform you all that I am joining the SPLM-IO under the leadership of the First Vice President Gen. Taban Deng Gai to help in the implementation of the ARCISS and the recent Presidential Call for the National Dialogue” Both explains in a short declaration letter extended to Nyamilepedia for public consumption.

“It is my sincere appeal that we must all commit unconditionally to restore peace and tranquility to our suffering masses and make 2017 a year for peace” Both concludes his 3-paragraphed declaration.

Both, who has been criticized by former supporters and colleagues on social media, could be succumbing to dictatorship and injustice just to secure a job at the expense of the oppressed

“It’s really sad to support injustice and serve under dictator who doesn’t value human life. Good luck Joseph Madak Both for your decision to join the club of oppressors but I and committed friends will continue to struggle against injustice and campaign for accountability that bring lasting peace in South Sudan.” Said a former colleague, Philemon Daud

Although the Opposition believes that Taban Deng Gai has defected to Kiir’s SPLM-IG and no peace agreement is being implemented in Juba, rebel officials who are tired of war and seeking new opportunities have no other options other than returning to Juba.

Contrary, officials who are tired of Kiir’s government brutality, ethnic dominant and marginalization as President Salva Kiir struggles to consolidate powers are fleeing Juba and joining the opposition.

Within the last two weeks more than 8 government officials including Professor Elais Nyamlel Wakoson, an SPLA-IG platoon in Renk and over 200 youth in Western Bhar el Ghazal and Unity State have joined rebellion under the leadership of Dr. Riek Machar Teny yet more than 20 SPLM-IO officials and a few youth have defected from IO and returned to Juba.

This exodus, which has been the norm for the last 3 years, might continue until a permanent ceasefire between the warring factions is reached and the peace agreement is resuscitated and implemented.

“I recognize that at presence, there is no functional ceasefire, the government is not representative of all South Sudan political factions, and there is no serious work underway on reforms but these remain worthy goals. I would argue that the agreement is not halt of accomplishment, it remains the point of references by both the government and the opposition, and we should continue to encourage a return to the foundation of that agreement and we should be presence when the conditions shift to allow for sincere implementation” US Former Envoy, Amb. Donald Booth said during his last speech in Washington.

I think the mere truths of Mr Madak Both to resigned and joined Taban Deng crown Hotels in Juba, will not really produced any single fruit at all, In Fact, Mr Both you have killed your political career and we must a little bit go back to the word of God who said you reap what you cultivated, so friend or brother whatever, sound good for you take it, but Someone has just said sometime back that Salva Kiir has shot his foot, i think you have done the same, i think again Dr Machar has made person because what you did in Bentiu in Khartoum peace agreement in which all of us are aware of that facts not to go into detail.so brother or friend as i have put before, go in peace and the time will tell the true of what each one of us has done toward his people and nation.

who in the world in their right mind if conscious enough would dare joining Slava Kiir and his Jaang councils. They are animals with out mercy. Most of these cowards will not make it to the era of peace alive because their very own masters continually turns on them when their usefulness is no longer need or necessary for jaang government. Just think about it. That like taking a unnecessary double risk if anyone understand what that means.
