October 12th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – The deputy chairman of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO) Henry Odwar is in Canada to brief the movement’s membership there, a senior SPLM-IO member in Canada said.
Odwar arrived in the country’s Calgary from South Sudan and was received upon arrival by the SPLM-IO head of mission to Canada and his counterpart in Brazil.
“Henry Odwar just arrived in Calgary, Alberta, Canada now at midnight,” a source told the Nyamilepedia from Calgary.
“The Canadian chapters will meet here tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday. He (Odwar) will address the mission and brief them on R-ARCISS. He will be the keynote speaker at the GA and he will also brief the South Sudanese congregations in church on Sunday,” the source added.
The source said the meeting was a General Assembly meeting and was supposed to be conducted a month ago and was delayed because of Odwar’s absence.
“It is the SPLM/A leadership General Assembly conference. This conference was suppose to be done last month on September 2nd but it was postponed because Cde. Henry couldn’t attend as he got busy preparing over Dr. Machar’s meeting with president Kiir,” the source added.
