February 5th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – The National Salvation Front (NAS) led by Gen. Thomas Cirilo Swaka is just an internet warmonger that does not have any kind of military existence in Yei River state, a SPLM-IO spokesman have claimed.

This followed a statement issued by NAS over the weekend that the South Sudan army alongside the SPLA-IO have attacked their positions in Yei River state claiming that their forces defeated the attackers.

In a statement issued on Sunday to deny the allegation, Wayi Godwill Edward, a spokesman for the SPLM-IO Yei River state governor said NAS is only presence on the internet and has no military presence in Yei to be attacked.

“The so-called NAS has no any single base in Kajo-Keji county and indeed in the state as whole. It is just an internet warmonger whose capability is only to stage negative propaganda against the peace [agreement] and claim responsibility for any atrocity committed on civilians by some criminals in Yei River State,” Edward said.

Edward urged the people of South Sudan to turn deaf hear to NAS’ “propaganda” to avoid being deceived by the group.

“We therefore, call on our people to not allow themselves to be deceived by those internet warmongers who are incredulous of the R-ARCSS and attempting to threaten and destabilize its implementation,” he said adding that the situation in the state is “is relatively calm.”

The SPLA-IO Deputy Spokesman, Col. Lam Paul Gabriel, who is currently in Juba said in a statement on Monday that “SSNDA Spokesperson made noise in a press statement about joint operations against their forces by the SPLA IO and the SSPDF. In truth, SSNDA forces do not not need any joint operation if military action is to be considered.”
