Authorities in Maridi said they have apprehended the man whom they said had killed his wife and his mother in-law pointing out that an investigation is being carried out by relevant authorities in the area to know why he killed them.

State officials said the incident took place in a neighborhood called Nambia which they said is 3 kilometers north of Maridi town identifying the suspect as Abdallah Wilson saying the reason why he killed the two remain unclear.

The authorities said the government had ordered the police to monitor him so he do not escape from justice prior to his arrest.

“During that time the government of Maridi State had given orders and directives to all the security organs at the state level to cover that area so as not to give him a room to escape,” Peter Saki the Minister of Information in the state told the Eye Radio.

He said Wilson who was shot while resisting to be arrested was arrested.

“On the 3rd of this October 2018 the day before yesterday at around 1:00 pm, they happened to arrest the person he is now at the police station,” Saki added.
