SPLA-IO Defeats Government Offensives, More Tanks Destroyed Or Captured!

July 20, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —— South Sudan’s armed Opposition forces under the leadership of South Sudan’s First Vice President, Dr. Riek Machar Teny, reports major victories against their rivals on Juba-Yei road this morning.

According to James Gatdet Dak, the Press Secretary of the First Vice President, SPLA in Opposition has crashed SPLA-Kiir on Wednesday morning following major offensives on their defensive position.

“SPLA-IO forces have repulsed a massive offensive being carried out by President Salva Kiir’s forces on Juba-Yei road in violation of the cessation of hostilities declared on July 11, 2016.” Gatdet said

Gatdet believes that the attacking force, loyal to president Salva Kiir, has lost many lives and their tanks were either captured or destroyed.

“However, they have been crashed with a number of their tanks destroyed or captured. They have also incurred heavy losses in human lives wasted. Their remnants have been scattered in disarray in the bushes.” he continued.

Gatdet reiterates that the attacking SPLA aims to hunt down the First Vice President, Dr. Riek Machar Teny, despite his commitment to return to Juba once a neutral force from the region is deployed in the capital, Juba

“The aim of the offensive was to look for and hunt down the First Vice President, Dr. Riek Machar, despite his repeated assurances that he is willing to return to Juba once a third-party force is deployed soon.” He said.

Gatdet is confident that their 1300-manned troop has fought as hard as they did in the capital during the 4 days battles last week.

“However, our forces are ready to fight back in self-defence and the Tuesday and Wednesday clashes around Mundri town and on Yei road – like at Jebel Kujur battles in Juba – are bitter lessons to the warmongering forces of President Salva Kiir.” The Press Secretary said.

He said the SPLM/SPLA-IO calls on the regional players and the wider international community to put more pressure on President Kiir to give peace a chance and stop the military offensive in case he is in control of his forces.

In the capital, President Salva Kiir assures Nuer leaders that he will not overstep his powers and tries to remove Dr. Machar, who according to the peace agreement, can only be replaced by SPLM/SPLA-IO Military Council and SPLM-IO political Bureau if he is unwilling or unable to perform his duties.

Machar remains consistent that an international force, under UNMISS mandate, must be deployed to guarantee security for civilians and politicians in the country.

Too early but very beautiful. The war is now brought to EQUATORIA where the first bullet which led to the independence was fired. For sure the best revolution is at the door. The balance of power is to be realised. This is greater EQUATORIA.

tolio and baaaaak, pay attention

IGAD & The International community has failed Dr. Riek Machar. He went to juba because he is a peace lover & they see him when this use less president is using state resource to kill that good man??? Stay firm freedom fighters. Tell Taban Deng to stay true to him self. If salva kiir kills him Riek Mcahar today, He will kill him too next day or he will have to relinquish idea of democratizing south sudan. I hope Taban deng will not go that low at this critical time.

Dr. Riak is no fool when he accepted to come to Juba. Let the People of SS pray for the life of this man.. I believe “there is such a divinity that hedges ..”him ;that all the planned evil cannot stop his journey of salvation for the people of the SS.
