November 22nd 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – A senior SPLA-IO commander has died following a short illness, a member of the main armed opposition group said.
Brigadier Augustino Modi who was the deputy commander of the SPLA-IO forces at Lobujo cantonment site died on Thursday according to the senior member of the group.
“General Augustino died on Thursday after battling a short sickness,” the SPLA-IO officer said.
Reacting to the death of the senior SPLA-IO commander, SPLM-IO governor of Imatong state Nathaniel Pierino said the late officer was a nationalist and a patriot.
“I am saddened to learn of untimely dead of Brig. Augustine Modi the D/Cdr of Lobujo Cantonment, he was a patriot, a Nationalist and a character, my condolences to his family and entire the SPLM/A (IO) fraternity,” Pierino said.
