July 3rd 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s pounds continue to rise against the United States Dollar in the nation’s capital one week after rival leaders, Salva Kiir and SPLM-IO leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon, signed a permanent ceasefire agreement in the Sudanese capital Khartoum raising hope that the bloody civil war may be ended in the Africa’s youngest country.

Several sources told the Nyamilepedia today from Juba that the price of the one hundred United States Dollar dropped remarkably from 40,000 South Sudanese Pounds to 24,000 South Sudanese pound as of this afternoon.

“Today, one hundred US Dollar is 24,000 and last week it was traded at 40,000 South Sudanese pound,” one source said from Juba.

Another source also said the restriction by the nation’s national security service has been eased raising hope that the country’s economy is improving as peace talks progress in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum.

“Even the police and the security people deployed at Juba market have left their places and are no where here. This is an indication that the economy is improving well,” the source said on the condition anonymity.
