August 22nd 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit has warned oil companies operating in the country’s oil sector of mis management.

The president made the remarks on Wednesday during a visit by head of Sahara Energy Group Tope Shonubi at the state house in Juba.

“The President …. Salva Kiir Mayardit has warned business companies dealing in the oil sector that he will not tolerate irresponsible activities in South Sudan,” a statement by the Presidency quoting Kiir said.

The meeting – according to the presidency statement – was attended by several senior government officials including Kiir’s security advisor, Tut Gatluak, the minister in the office of the president, Mayiik Ayii Deng, oil minister, Awou Daniel and energy minister Dhieu Mathok.

The leader of the oil company reiterated the commitment and assurance of his oil company to improve infrastructure projects in the country.

South Sudan has undertaken to introduce a zero-tolerance policy on behaviors which undermines the oil sector.

In June, the government suspended all pre-sales oil contracts in an attempt to improve competition in its petroleum sector hence boosting economy.
