South Sudan’s Kiir to visit Cairo next week – sources

January 12th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan President, Salva Kiir Mayardiit, will,  next week, travel to the Egyptian capital Cairo for a state visit, the Nyamilepedia has learned.

Egypt is an ally to the government of South Sudan and has remained one of the biggest support provider to the government in the region.

Speaking to the Nyamilepedia on Saturday,  a high-level source at the South Sudan embassy in Cairo said Kiir will visit Egypt next week without providing details.

“H. E President Kiir will come here next week. He will be discussing with President Al-Sisi range of issues including the support for the revitalized peace agreement,” the source told the Nyamilepedia on the condition of anonymity on Saturday.

The source said Kiir will be accompanied by Defense Minister Kuol Manyang as well as his Foreign Minister Nhial Deng Nhial among other senior government members.
