August 24th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit has paid a surprise visit to Uganda according to a statement by the presidency.
“The President of the Republic, H.E. Salva Kiir Mayardit has arrived to Entebbe International Airport, with his accompanying delegation,” the presidency said in a statement seen by Nyamilepedia.
According to the presidency statement, “The President was received by Henry Oryem Okello, State Minister for Foreign Affairs.”
Kiir was accompanied by his defense minister, Kuol Manyang Juk as well as other senior government officials.
The president is expected to meet his Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Kagutta Museveni.
