September 11th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit and opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny have both agreed to include General Paul Malong and General Thomas Cirilo in the peace process, government and opposition officials said in a statement.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, SPLM-IO deputy chairperson Hendry Odwar said Kiir and Machar have agreed to include General Cirilo and General Malong in the process saying the peace process may face difficulties if they are not included.
“There is need to bring General Paul Malong and General Thomas Cirilo on board,” SPLM-IO deputy chairperson Hendry Odwar said in a statement this afternoon.
“Without them, this peace may have difficulties and that is why we have to move as one people as South Sudanese,” Odwar added.
For its part, South Sudan President said in a statement that the two men have agreed to engage “Non-signatories to the Revitalized Peace Agreement to come on board.”
