South Sudan’s Government orders waiver of visa requirements for the citizens of Kenya. Juba, South Sudan.

July 29, 2021—The Government of the Republic of South Sudan has waived visa requirements for Kenyan citizens entering to the Republic of South Sudan.

This comes less than a week after the Kenyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement waiving visa restrictions for South Sudanese wishing to go to the Republic of Kenya.

South Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation welcomed the Kenyan decision yesterday, on 28th of July 2021 to waive the visa requirements for South Sudanese citizens wishing to travel to the Republic of Kenya.

 In a statement leaked to Nyamilepedia, the Assistant Director at the office of Immigration at Juba International Airport (JIA), Brig. Gen Santino Munybut Kuol directs all airlines operating in South Sudan that the Government of South Sudan has waived the requirements of obtaining a visa to enter to South Sudan for the citizens of Kenya holding a valid passport.

” In reference to the circular dated 28th /07/2021 by the Director General of Nationality, Passport and Immigration regarding the above mentioned subject, the office of Immigration at Juba International Airport (JIA) would like to inform all airlines operating in South Sudan that the Republic of South Sudan have waived the requirements of obtaining visa entry to South Sudan for the citizens of Kenya holding valid passport as per the provisions of the Treaty for the Establishment for the East African Community and Protocol of the Establishment for the East African Common Market of Free Movement of Labor and persons for the citizens of partner States “, Assistant Director at Immigration office at JIA said in a statement.

” Therefore, you are directed to act in the line of this directive from the Immigration Authority”, the statement added.
