South Sudan’s First Vice-President heads to New York for UN annual meeting – aides

September 22nd 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s First Vice-President Taban Deng Gai is traveling to the United States’ New York City where he will attend the 74th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) due this week, his aides said.

New York is the General Headquarters of the United Nations and the world body always hold its annual gathering there.

In a statement to Nyamilepedia this afternoon, the SPLM-IO (TB) chief whip in parliament Bor Gatwech said the First Vice-President who is on his way to New York will represent the country at the 74th UN annual meeting.

The FVP is the one representing South Sudan in the 74th meeting of the UNGA,” Gatwech said.

Taban’s Press Secretary Agel Machar told the Nyamilepedia separately this afternoon that the FVP left the country on Thursday and would heads to New York tonight.

He [First Vice-President Taban Deng] left the country on Thursday for Nairobi. Tonight, heads to new York,” Machar said.
