October 19th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s exiled opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny has arrived in Juba, a senior opposition official said this morning.
Machar who was accompanied by a high-level delegation arrived in the capital aboard a Sudanese airliner and would meet his officials currently on peace mission in Juba before meeting a delegation of the UN Security Council due in Juba tomorrow.
A member of the main armed opposition group who is in Juba and was in the airport to receive Machar confirmed to Nyamilepedia that Machar had arrived.
“The chairman has arrived with a high-level delegation and he will meet with us before meeting the UNSC delegation,” the official say.
The official said Machar may remain in Juba for days and would try to reach an understanding with Kiir over the number and boundaries of states which is impeding the establishment of the transitional government.
“He may sty here for days because he will try to reach a settlement with President Salva Kiir on the issues which are pending specially the number of states and their boundaries,” the official added.
