August 30th 2018 (Nyamilepedia)Â – South Sudan nationals seeking refuge in the neighboring Sudan are facing acute drugs shortage, the State Ministry of Health (SMoH) noted in humanitarian situation report released Wednesday.
As the refugees situation deteriorates in different camps in the country, the State Minstry of Health (SMoH) has called on all humanitarian aid agencies and partners to help response to the lack of drugs faced by the refugees in different camp clinics such as Um Sangour, Iouri, Dabat Bosin, Al Redis I, Al Redis II and Alagaya.
In the course of July, the World Health Organization (WHO) donated drugs consignment as part of its emergency response in thess areas. However, the drugs consignment that was distributed at different camp levels ended up being understocked before the intended period.
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and its implementing partners, are working to resolve the drug-related issues and are dxpected to procure enough medicines that will last longer than the previous ones.
South Sudanese are still in dire need of humanitarian assistance, despite the South Sudan Regional Refugee Response Plan (SSRRRP) launched early this year in response to refugee crisis in six asylum-hosting countries.
