October 22nd 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – The United States Ambassador to the United Nations has visited South Sudan’s Upper Nile state capital Malakal to meet the displaced people there.

Kelly Craft, the top UN official who was in Juba on Sunday as part of a Security Council delegation told women in Malakal that they hope the South Sudanese parties will end the war once and for all.

You know everybody here has hope and they are not asking for much, except for the safety of their families,” Craft said.

The Ambassador said the people of South Sudan have hope, but stressed it is important for the parties to the agreement to make a smooth transition and meet the November 12th deadline for the formation of a unity government.

We have hope for peace. Last year there was fear and people did not move freely in Makalal town,” one woman told the UN diplomat.
