October 10th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan government announced on Monday that the long awaited celebrations planned to welcome the signing of the peace agreement that was signed in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa Ethiopia in mid September will take place late this month.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of South Sudan announced in a statement by the deputy foreign minister in the capital Juba to the journalist that the long awaited celebration will take place late October.

South Sudan President, Salva Kiir Mayardiit and opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon  signed a peace agreement in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa on September 12th to end the ongoing brutal conflict that has engulfed the nation since December 2013.

The agreement was also signed by the armed opposition coalition known as South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA) and the exiled politicians of the ruling SPLM party known as SPLM-Former Detainees along with other nonarmed groups in South Sudan.

South Sudan descended into civil war in December 2013 after a national conference for the ruling SPLM party was marred by violence leading to armed clashes within the South Sudan’s unproffessional army.
