September 1st 2018 (Nyamilepedia)Â – South Sudan’s ruling and fractured party, the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) and the ruling Communist Party of China (CPC) have signed a memorandum of understanding to provide educational opportunities for South Sudanese Students to study at Chinese Universities and to provide trainings to the SPLM party.
“The agreement will provide training opportunities to SPLM cadres and South Sudanese students to study in Chinese Universities,” the statement said.
President Salva Kiir is in Beijing for an Afro-Chinese summit and met President Xi Jingping on the sideline of the summit and struck a number of agreements which in return benefited South Sudan with $50 million loan.
The amount will be used by the South Sudan government to develop roads linking the capital and some important towns always inacessable during the rainy season.
According to the South Sudan Presidential Press Unit, the two parties have agreed for a working cooperation for a duration of five years in these fields.
“Sudan People’s Liberation Movement SPLM and Communist Party of China CPC signed a memorandum of understanding on working cooperation for 5 years,” the Presidential Press Unit further announced.
The deal was signed by the SPLM Secretary of External Affairs, Bol Makueng on behalf of the SPLM, and the Chinese Minister of International Relations, Song Tawe signed on behalf of CPC.
