Nov 16, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —– Forces of SPLM/A in Opposition have claimed new victories in Unity State, Central Equatoria and also along South Sudan-DRC border.

According to the military spokesman of SPLA-IO, Col. William Gatjiath Deng, their forces reclaimed the town of Kaljaak in Rubkona county of Unity State, Morobo in Central Equatoria and also the town of Bazia at South Sudan-DRC Border. All these towns were captured in renewed fighting yesterday on Tuesday.

“On Tuesday 16, November 2016, the gallant forces, the SPLA/IO have taken the full control of the following towns; Bazi at the South Sudan-DRC border, Morobo in Central Equatoria and Kaljak in Unity state.” Col. Gatjiath said.

“The following towns were capture consecutively on Tuesday by our gallant forces after the fierce battles between the government forces and SPLA/IO.” He continued.

While the SPLA-IG spokesman is yet to response, Col. Gatjiath said their positions were attacked by Kiir’s loyal forces, however, he warns that SPLA-IO will no longer tolerate provocations from their rivals.

“This time around, the SPLA-IO will not accept such supercilious attitude from the government that always keep on attacking our forces at their bases and we always remain in self defence.”Gatjiath said.

“We must take an excessive force to fight this autocrat, ethnocentric regime, since it has chosen unrest and continual belligerents in the country.” He added.

Col Gatjiath assures that their forces are not committing any violations of human rights or targetting of civilians and they will continue to abide by the international humanitarian laws at their warfronts.

“The SPLA-IO, shall always refrain from systematic massacres, abuses of human rights and violation of international humanitarian law in all warfronts of South Sudan.” Col. Gatjiath assures.

The SPLA-IO also captured the town of Nhialdiu in Unity State last week but later withdrawn from the strategic town.

Col Gatjiath believes that the SPLA-IO freed 20 aid workers, who were trapped in Nhialdiu during the fighting and announced that the humanitarian workers were taken to Unity State safely.

“The leadership of the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA-IO) would once again like to inform the public that the 20 AID workers who were trapped in at Nhialdiu’s incident were all freed and taken to state capital’s Bentiu three days ago” Gatjiath said.
