South Sudan President promotes army spokesperson to the rank of Major General

August 28th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardiit who also double as the SPLA,  South Sudan’s army has promoted the army Spokesman Brigadier General Lul Ruai Koang to the rank of Major General, Lul told the Nyamilepedia on Tuesday.

Lul, also in a post on his social media profile Facebook welcomed the promotion by the President and said he thank the President for promoting him.

“Thanks to C-IN-C for promoting me to the Rank of ” Major General” in the SPLA,” he said.

He said he was promoted on 27th July while he was in Nairobi by the President saying he was already promoted when he received Chan Garang, the rebel General allied to Malong who defected to the government last week.

“I was a Major General when I received Chan Garang who rebelled against the government,” he said.

He accused some media house of not publicizing his promotion saying he already informed them about the new development.

“I informed some websites about my promotion but they didn’t informed the public about it and are continuing to refer to me as Brigadier General  and this is because they always distribute what is not the right information,” he said.

South Sudan President in July promoted several army officers to the ranks of Brigadier Generals,  Major Generals and Generals.
