September 3rd 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan President, Salva Kiir Mayardiit and his Egyptian counterpart Abdul Fatah al-Sisi met in Beijing on the sideline of the Afro-Chinese summit on Monday.
President Salva Kiir along with many other African heads of states are in China for a Chinese African summit which is taking place there.
“His Excellency Salva Kiir Mayardit this evening had a brief discussion with his Egyptian counterpart Abdul Fatta Al-Sisi, the President of Arab Republic of Egypt,” a statement by the South Sudan Presidency said.
According to the Presidency’s statement, the two met on the sideline of the Afro-Chinese summit in Beijing on Monday evening and discussed billetaral ties between Juba and Cairo.
“The two met on the sideline of the summit to discuss bilateral relations between the two Countries. President Al-Sisi reiterated is commitment in helping South Sudan on agriculture and more scholarship to South Sudanese in different fields,” the statement said.
The two leaders, according to the Presidential Press Unit, discussed the ongoing peace process taking place in the Sudanese capital Khartoum with President Kiir reiterating his commitment to the peace agreement signed in early August.
“President Salva Kiir also briefed Egyptian President on the status of Khartoum peace agreement. President Kiir reiterates his commitment to implementation of the Khartoum peace agreement without any delay,” it said.
