February 7th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – A South Sudan police officer is being detained by the Ugandan police for accusation of beating her housemaid who stole some money and items.

Maj. Josephine Achuil, a immigration police officer, accused a Ugandan national working for her of stealing over $6000 as well as other valuable items from her room last month.

A relative identified as Guot Antipas was quoted by the Eye Radio as saying the incident in which the Ugandan woman stolen the properties was last month.

“It was on date 6th last month when the mate working at home stole the money which is equivalent to $6.000,” Antipas said.

“Some of the stolen items include a TV screen worth 2 million Ugandan Shillings and a Samsung phone worth 1000$,” he added.

Achuil, according to the relative, went to open a case at Kabalagala police station against the unidentified Ugandan thief but was instead arrested and accused of assaulting the woman after the police recovered the stolen money.

“We were denied to record our statement, but we were accused of assaulting the lady instead,” Antipas said.

“As am talking to you, she has three days in Luzira [prison]. Now they have victimised them twice and the money taken, and they are thrown in the jail,” he added appealing to the government of South Sudan to intervene.
