South Sudan Ministers Burry Their Own, Killed By Unknown Militias

April 12, 2017(Nyamilepedia) —— Former rebels’ commanders and current ministers in Salva Kiir government, Lt. Gen. Gat-hoth Gatkuoth Hothnyang and Lt. Gen. David Yau Yau joined murle tribesmen on Sunday to burry 4 civilians, who were killed in an ambush, a few kilometres away from the national capital, Juba.

Lt. Gen. Gat-hoth, a former Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistic of SPLA in Opposition and Lt. Gen David Yau Yau, a former COBRA commander-in-Chief are now the Minister and Deputy Minister of Labour and Public Services, respectively.

On Sunday, the two hard working ministers were seen digging a mass grave to burry 4 Murle civilians who were killed on Thursday after leaving the capital, Juba, in attempt to return home, Pibor.

The convoy was ambushed by unknown armed militias in a government controlled area killing the 4 civilians and leaving many other injured.

At least 7 humanitarian workers were also killed on Juba-Pibor road on March 25th after leaving the capital for Pibor. No one claimed responsibility and reliable investigation has been carried out so far.

South sudan conflict has worsen in the last three months as deadly ambushes and fightings are being staged near the major towns and its oil fields.

Within this year, 6 senior generals on the government side have been killed in intense fightings or ambushes near the major towns of Wau, Juba, Yei and Malakal.

Oil workers have also been captured or kidnapped in Paloch and Adar oil fields, which reduced oil production in Upper Nile.
