June 14th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan government on Thursday launched a wireless network for the capital Juba in a bid easy internet access in the world’s youngest nation.
The Juba Metro City Fiber Network was launched at its site in Gumbo outside Juba by the Ministry of Information, Communication Technology and Postal Services, in partnership with Vertigo Communications Ltd.
According to a statement issued by the ministry, the launch of the fiber optic network will not only strengthen business communication but also play an important role in helping students conduct their research.
Lack of Internet access in South Sudan has been one of the challenges to business growth as the world emerged digitally. With Internet access, high school and university students are associated with outside institutions.
Online marketing has also become the main source of commerce, whereby business vendors sell their products digitally via the Internet.
