November 8th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan government and Kuwait on Wednesday signed a cooperation agreement in which the two countries would form a bilateral committee to work for the betterment of cooperation between the two countries.
This came during a state visit by South Sudan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Awut Deng to the Gulf Country on Wednesday.
“On Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister [of Kuwait] Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled met with South Sudan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Awut Acuil at the Foreign Ministry’s General Office on the occasion of her official visit to Kuwait,” a statement by the Kuwait government said.
“The two sides reviewed aspects of cooperation between the two countries at various levels and discussed the latest developments on the regional and international arenas and the developments in the region, in addition to discussing issues of common interest,” the statement added.
The statement said the two leader signed an agreement for “the establishment of a joint committee for bilateral cooperation between Kuwait and the Republic of South Sudan.”
They also signed an “Agreement and a Memorandum of Understanding concerning the establishment of bilateral consultations between the Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of South Sudan.”
