April 23rd, 2018(Nyamilepedia) — South Sudan incumbent, His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit, has single handedly removed and replaced the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Deng Alor Kuol.
Hon Alor has been replaced by Hon. Martin Elia Lomuro, the former Minister of Cabinet Affairs.
Informing IGAD, AU, EU, UN organs and other international bodies, South Sudan embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, announced today that Hon. Elia is now the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of South Sudan.
“The Embassy of the Republic of South Sudan, Permanent Mission to the African Union, IGAD and the UNECA in Addis Ababa presents its compliments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, the Commission for Africa, IGAD Secretariat and all Diplomatic and Consular Missions accredited to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, and has the honor to inform that Hon. Dr. Martin Elia Lomuro, is now the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation of the Republic of South Sudan. All letters should be addressed in that order” Reads part of the memo.
Although president Salva Kiir, Hon. Michael Makuei Lueth and other members of Kiir’s administration have criticized and called on Alor to voluntarily resign from the Ministry, Hon. Elia has attended IGAD Foreign Ministers meeting in Addis Ababa last month despite that Alor was still in office.
Hon. Alor Kuol has been a focus point of controversies in Juba as he tried to maintain ties with the former political detainees who remained in exile and continued to mobilize the international community to support their proposal for a regime change that would exclude President Salva and Dr. Riek Machar Teny in future Transitional Government of National Unity and subsequent governments.
Despite that Hon. Alor refused to return to Juba after the second round of the Revitalization Peace Process in February, still he didn’t resign claiming that he was appointed by his party, the SPLM-FD and only the FDs can decide to relieve and replace him.
Alor’s argument would be correct if the Agreement on Resolution of the conflict in South Sudan(ARCISS), the peace deal that was signed in August 2015, was alive and being implemented, however, many argue that the peace deal is dead and should be revitalized.
So far the FDs have not responded to sacking of their colleague, however, Hon. John Luk Joak is still holding the other ministerial position that was allocated to FDs.

It is now clear that Martin Elia Lomoro is being used. For God’s sake, this position is for FD and not IG. Salva Kiir is not leader with vision, what he has is version which is outdated. You do not need to be told that you have no right to issue your degree on what you have right on.
Think before you act, you have backslides this beloved country to beyond the
