April 28th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan government has signed a contract with a United State firm to lobby in favor of Juba by convincing US government to relief sanctions, block establishment of hybrid court.

Relations between Juba and Washington soared in recent years following the outbreak of the ongoing civil war with the US government pressuring Juba to end the war and to hold accountable those responsible for gross human rights violations during the five-year old conflict which has – since its onset – been fought along ethnic lines.

The contract between Gainful Solutions Inc – owned by former US ambassador to Nairobi, Michael Ranneberger – and the government of President Salva Kiir also tasked the US firm to seduce American companies to flow over to South Sudan and do business.

Based on the two-year contract, the US lobby group will work to convince the bitter Trump Administration to have military relations with South Sudan, lift sanctions, block establishment of hybrid court among others objectives.

The firm will do this in return for $3.7 million from the government of South Sudan.

“The Consultants will act as the agents of the GOSS, Office of the President, to facilitate and negotiate with American and Western companies for investment in South Sudan,” partly read the contract.

“Both the Consultants and the Coordinator shall equally and proportionally share any residuals, compensation, commissions, or shareholding resulting from such facilitation and negotiation with American and Western businesses,” it added.

It further added that  “The Client agrees that all American and Western business companies venturing into South Sudan after the execution of this Contract will be assumed to have originated from the parties of this Contract, and that the parties to this Contract shall be responsible to guide and negotiate these business arrangements with approval and support of the Client.”

“Upon completion of the first year of the contract, the terms of the contract may be renegotiated at the request of either party. The Term may be extended with the written consent of the Parties.”

The contract was signed – on behalf of the South Sudan government – by South Sudan deputy head of mission to Washington, Amb. Buay Malek and Michael Ranneberger  on behalf of the US firm, Gainful Solutions Inc.
