Dec 16, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —— Hon Nasike Teko Allan Lochul, a former Deputy Minister of South Sudan’s Transitional Government Government of National Unity and a member of parliament(MP) for Eastern Equatoria State has resigned and defected from Salva Kiir’s government.

In a declaration signed yesterday and extended to Nyamilepedia, Hon. Nasike has declared her full allegiance to SPLM/SPLA(IO) to fight for the rights of her people, a call she has advocated for since she joined politics in 2005.

“I have dedicated my life to serve my people, the people of South Sudan as a member of National Assembly in the government of National Unity(GONU) Republic of Sudan” Reads parts of her declaration.

Between 2005 to 2016, Hon. Nasike has served many portfolios ranging from Deputy Minister of Information for Eastern Equatoria, which she served in Eastern Equatoria State between 2010 and 2012, to various positions in the national government in Juba.

After the July 2016 conflict, Nasike was appointed the Minister of Labour, Public Service and Human Resource Development by President Salva Kiir, however, due to continuation of war, which she believes is being incited by the president and other government officials, Hon. Nasike decided to call it a quit.

On one disappointment, Hon. Nasike realized that President Salva Kiir is not leading the country as he is portrayed to be but rather being led by a tribal group known as the “Jieng Council of Elders”.

“When I decided to render my services to my people, the beloved people of South Sudan, I did it thinking that when it comes to the leadership of the country, President Salva Kiir would lead and not be led by a tribal group, the Jieng Council of Elders, known as JCE” Nasike reiterates.

She hoped that the Agreement on Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan(ARCISS) would be implemented in letter and spirit to usher in new waves of peace, reconciliation and national healing but to her disappointment, the government continued to pursue war instead of peace.

“All hopes and expectations were high on ending the three years of conflict in South Sudan when we joined TGNU. All now end in vain” Nesike said.

Hon. Nasike made her final decision this month because the TGNU has failed to implement the peace agreement in letter and spirit but instead the president went on to pay allegiance to his own tribe without acknowledging the suffering of other tribes in the country.

“As a politician who has interest to serve my people, I have decided to leave the fake Transitional Government of National Unity of the Republic of South Sudan for the following reasons: Unwillingness of TGNU to implement the ARCISS to letter and spirit; incitement of hate speeches by the president and many senior government officials” Nasike said.

Hon. Nasike reiterates that it was wrong for Salva Kiir to pay condolences to rumours of his dinka tribe being targeted on roads in Equatoria without acknowledging death of many other innocent but non-Dinka citizens.

“In September 2016 when the President came out to rebuke the rumours of his death, he paid his condolence to Jieng victims of Juba-Yei road incident without acknowledging who were massacred by his militia” Hon. Nasike added.

Among other tribally motivated speeches of President Kiir, Hon. Nasike strongly condemns the remarks President Kiir made on September 30 in which he claims that his tribe liberated South Sudan alone, saying that only himself, Gen. Kuol Manyang Juuk(a Dinka Bor) and Gen. Daniel Awet(a Dinka from Bhar el Ghazal) who used to recruit young dinka fighters from Dinka areas and bring them to fight liberation wars in Equatoria.

Nasike believes that South Sudan under Salva Kiir will never move forward to achieve any meaningful peace but instead President Salva Kiir and his group will continue to fuel conflicts.

She believes that only a resuscitation of ARCISS and its full implementation will bring a lasting peace to South Sudan.

“Therefore, I’m declaring my allegiance to the People’s Movement, SPLM(IO) that is working tirelessly to help averted a castrophic collapse of our nation by relying on grassroot for support and that has a vision of making this country for all 64 tribes of South Sudan” Nasike declares.

“I, therefore, QUIT the current tribal and tyrant regime in Juba to join the  voices of freedom and democracy, the SPLM(IO), to protect the innocent and humble people of South Sudan” Nasike continues

As a daughter of Equatoria and a South Sudanese mother, Hon. Nasike refused to sit back and watch genocide being committed in the country, especially in Equatoria

“As a South Sudanese mother and an Equatorian daughter, I will not support and work for a regime that commits genocide to her people, especially in Equatoria” She concludes.
