August 6th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – Sudanese President Field Marshal Omar Hassan Ahmed Al-Bashir said on Sunday that the South Sudanese economy has reached the level of collapse as result of the ongoing conflict in the country.

President Bashir was speaking during the signing ceremony of the South Sudanese final peace deal between the government, Machar’s SPLM-IO and other opposition groups including the South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA) and FDs.

The South Sudan Opposition Alliance and the FDs initially vowed not to sign the agreement which they termed as ignorant to their concern but their leaders, Gabriel Changson and Deng Alore surprised the public by appending their signatures on the agreement eventually yesterday.

Speaking during the ceremony, President Bashir assured President Salva Kiir of the fruitful outcome that the country will witness when the peace agreement is implemented as it is signed.

He said one of the main reasons for the efforts being exerted by the Sudan is to revive the South Sudanese economy which he said has reached a level of collapse.

“There will be profit brother Salva. One of our goals is the need to save the economy of South Sudan because it has reached a level of collapse,” Al-Bashir said.

President Bashir assured Kiir of his support and that of his government in the implementation of the agreement and he would be there for South Sudan whenever he is needed.
