August 13th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s deputy interior minister has been accused of disgraceful actions by expelling people he believes are related to his inner political rivals within the government of President Salva Kiir Mayardiit.
Riaw Gatlier Gai, the country’s deputy interior minister, according to Southern Liech State SPLM Youth League, expelled Ruot Malual Gatluak, the Southern Liech Security Affairs Advisor from his house in the nation’s capital Juba.
“The Office of the SPLM Youth League in Southern Liech State is troubled by reports that, Hon. Ruot Malual Gatluak, the State Security Affairs Advisor designate and former Commissioner of Bou County, had been absurdly expelled by Hon. Riaw Gatlier Gai, the national Deputy Minister of Interior from his house on Thursday evening in Juba,” said a statement by the SPLM Youth League in Southern Liech State.
The Youth League said the deputy minister of interior also dismissed a military officer working for him as a driver citing his personal relation with the State Security Advisor designate whom he expelled early.
“Also this morning, August 10, 2018, Riaw went further to dismiss 2nd Lt. Lony Duop Biel, is close protection officer, from his compound for being a biological cousin to the Security Affairs Advisor designate,” the statement extended to the Nyamilepedia said.
The youth league accused the deputy information minister of regularly carrying out such activities against people he believe are related to political foes.
“Besides these two disgraceful action, Riaw has been regular ouster of the citizens of Southern Liech State from his house. In February 2017, Riaw Gatlier threw out Gatluak Jany Jiech, his former Office Manager from his house simply because he’s a brother to Amb. John Yak Jany by birth. Riaw Gatlier falsely termed Amb. Yak a political rival,” he said.
The youth league further said “The leadership of SPLM Youth League in Southern Liech State condemn in the strongest terms possible the acrimonious expulsion of our citizens including Hon. Ruot Malual from the Minister’s house and see it as a moved designed by Riaw Gatlier and his cronies to humiliate Ruot Malual in the face of honoring his appointment as State Advisor for Security Affairs.”
The statement was signed by the SPLM Youth League acting deputy Chairperson Thak Ter Chuol.
