July 13th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – A high-level South Sudan ministerial delegation which visited Sudan’s capital Khartoum on Thursday has concluded the visit and returned to Juba this morning.

On Friday, Sudan’s Deputy Chairman of the Transitional Military Council (TMC), Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, received – at the Republican Palace – the Ministers of Petroleum and Finance of South Sudan.

Awou Daniel and Salvatore Garang were dispatched on Thursday to Khartoum by President Salva Kiir to discuss economic cooperation between the two countries with the ruling military.

In a press statement, petroleum minister Awou Daniel said the meeting between them and Sudan’s deputy chief of TMC came in the context of the bilateral relations between the two countries and the efforts to overcome the challenges facing the cooperation in the oil field.

Awou said top of the agendas was the discussion on easing arrival of oil production materials to South Sudan and the oil export via Bashayer Port in Sudan’s Red Sea state.

Awou further said the meeting as well reviewed the resumption of oil production at block 5-A, besides enhancing the communication for signing memos of understanding to increase the oil production so as to meet the economic needs of the two countries sisterly states.
