Oct 04, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —– South Sudan’s Defense ministry is again on spotlight. While the Minister of defense is on a controversial mission behind a new First Vice President, Gen. Taban Deng Gai, who recently joined the government, the deputy minister, a former rebels’ commander-in-chief, Lt. Gen. David Yau Yau, is under house arrest over new defections.

The acting Minister of Defense, Lt. Gen. David Yau Yau, was arrested after meeting the president on Wednesday last week in what a senior official describes as a “state of confusion”.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said David Yau Yau cannot be trusted after all his former officers, including his former Deputy Command-in-chief, defected and threaten to topple the government of Salva Kiir.

“David Yau Yau is now under house arrest. You cannot trust a Murle, we all knew that these rebels were conspiring with the rebels of Riek Machar from within” Said the official.

Another official, who spoke to Online Sudan Tribune, denied if the arrest order came from the president but admits that Yau Yau has exchanged sides many times and has to be put under house arrest for security purpose.

“Actually I am not aware of such orders as having come from the president or anybody in the Security Council. What I know, and which is a normal practice in the security for precautionary and preemptive measures that such people, like David Yau Yau, who is known for changing sides, are usually placed under closed monitoring and surveillance measures,” the military official told Sudan Tribune on Tuesday when asked to comment on reports alleging David Yau Yau had been put under house arrest in Juba.

“You know Yau Yau is unreliable. Who knows, he may be part of the conspiracy behind the recent defection. For this reason, he and some of his group [members] need to be closely watched until they prove otherwise,” he continued.

In the United States, the Minister of Defense is working closely with a another rebel leader turned First Vice President, Taban Deng Gai.

Like Yau Yau, Gai has switched sides many times and it is yet to be seen if the government really trust Taban, who continues to maintain a weak link to SPLM in Opposition although he has been dismissed from the movement.

The huge mission to the United States is a big project for the government, hoping to gain momentum in the United States with the new faces, however, the leader of the delegation, Mr. Taban Deng Gai, is a big controversy.

While US officials have denounced Gen. Taban as a man with “no constituency” in South Sudan and question feasibility of his appointment, many South Sudan minority communities in the United States have refused to host the delegation.

“As Taban Deng Gai has been publicly disowned and denounced by all the South Sudanese communities, in North America, Europe, Australia, Canada and Africa, he Taban, now reply only on his huge delegations which composed of more than 50 personels, to fake meetings, in New Jersey and Washington D.C.” Said Amb. Reath Muoch Tang, the SPLM-IO representative to the United States.

“While Taban and his team are rejected by South Sudanese Communities in North America, the SPLM IO delegations were invited in various States of the U.S. to deliver a message of peace and how South Sudan will move forward after the Peace Agreement has been Abrogated by Salva Kiir and appointed his poodle Taban Deng Gai to continues his Jieng Council of Elder’s agenda that say; kill them and take their land so that we remains in Power for two hundred years.” He continued.

Constantly on media, Taban has issued many allegations against his former chairman, Dr. Riek Macha Teny but Machar has now dispatched his delegation to US, one of which will debate Taban on Wednesday on Africa54.

South Sudan minister of defence according to my careful observation is like a service dog guiding a blind Taban through their train wreck government. Bob Marley said, you can fool some people sometimes but you cannot fool all the people all the time. The saying is so true in the case of South Susan’s tribalized governmen. End of the dead end road is not so far for these officials.
