Oct 3, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —– South Sudan government, under the leadership of Salva Kiir Mayardit, calls for immediate intervention from the region and other friendly nations as minority communities and rebel groups threaten popular uprising to topple the government.
The government has now accepted the deployment of 4000 regional intervention force and promised to provide land and any other needed assistance to speedy up the deployment of a troop that is mandated to use all means necessary to protect national installations and South Sudanese people in their own capital city.

According to Elia Lomuro, the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, the government has ordered all government institutions and security sectors to immediately begin implementing the UNSCR 2304 and other resolutions that empower UNMISS, peacekeepers and humanitarian aid workers in the country.
Hon. Lomuro said the government is ready to provide land for the 4000 troops as requested by UNMISS, adding that the government will give unhindered access to UNMISS and all UN agencies in the country.
The Minister added that the government security apparatus will allow smooth operationalization of UNSCR 2304, unrestricted patrols, speedy insurance of foreign visas and unrestricted movement of all humanitarian aid workers in the country.
The change of language came barely a few days after the newly imposed First Vice President, Mr. Taban Deng Gai, refused the deployment of the Regional Protect Force in New York promising that his government is capable and working to resolve South Sudan’s problems.
Taban went on to deny that his government restricts humanitarian services and instead blames it on poor road network and increased number of “criminals” in the country.
Critics, however, believe that the change of language is based on security information on the ground. Within the last few days, there has been a heavy fighting within the capital between loyal forces and defecting troops from Murle ethnic group.
Other rebels groups, including the SPLM/A in Opposition are also organizing their forces as some claim to have locked down some major routes leading to the capital, Juba.
According to UN reports more than 100, 000 people are stranded in Yei alone.
On the other hand, the Political Bureau of SPLM/A-IO is calling for a rapid deployment of Regional Protect Force, however, not only in the capital but also in all major cities across the country.
The deployment of the regional troops is now taking a different turn and it is yet to be seen if the RPF will carry out their mandates as specified on the UNSC resolution.
