SSPDF kills Businessman Kerbino Wol

June 15, 2020 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan People’s Defense Force (SSPDF) has killed the leader of thenewly created opposition group, the 7th of October Movement, and bussinesman Kerbino Wol in the country’s Lakes state, sources have confirmed to Nyamilepedia.

Wol’s killing comes four days following the killing of Monydiar Maker, a heavily commander of the Gelweng milita group which also took part in the 2013 killing of Nuer civilians in Juba.

Speaking to Nyamilepedia from Yirol this afternoon, one source said Wol was killed following an ambush laid on him by members of the organized forces with the healp of civilian informants.

“This is to confirm to you that Kerbino Wol has been killed. He was killed to at dawn along with three of his men. An ambush was laid on him after a number of civilians helped the army to spy on him,” the source who refused to be named told Nyamilepedia.

“The army has been looking for him since the killing of Monydiar. He has been hiding in some parts of Amukpiny and the mission couldn’t have been completed without the help of civilians,” the official added.

The bussinesman was detained for two years in 2018 by the country’s National Security Service (NSS) after allegations that he was planning rebelion against the government of President Salva Kiir Mayardit.

“The army has been looking for him since the killing of Monydiar. He has been hiding in some parts of Amukpiny and the mission couldn’t have been completed without the help of civilians,” the official added.

He was charged with insurgency, rebellion agains the state and treason which eventually handed him and 15-year sentence but was released as part of a presidential pardon in January this year and his where abouts have been unknown since.

On June 5, he announced during an interview with the VOA that he was forming a rebel group against the government of President Kiir whom he accused of oppression and injustice against the people of South Sudan.

Reports of fighting surfaced between last week leading up to the killing of Monydiar who was reportedly hiding him there four days ago.

Another source in Juba confirmed to Nyamilepedia saying: “Yes, according to my information, he has been killed today. It was about 12 [AM], when he died.”
