The SPLA-IO claims to have inflicted heavy casualties on their opponents and captured their weapons.
“Right in the aftermath of raid, the (SSPDF) flatoon, comprised of (33) foot soldiers were undoubtedly subjected to extinction, or immediately lost lives in the battle early this morning and we have confidently counted (78) AK-47, (25) PKM, (7) RPG-7 found in good condition at the battlefield.” He added.
The SPLA-IO calls on the international community and the region to hold peace violators accountable for their actions.Â
“It’s clear to the worldwide, region and in the country in particular that the situation is still deteriorating in some parts of the country, which shows that we are on the verge of losing trust and imminently rolling into war since the regime still loggerheaded the implementation of the agreement.” Gatjiath said.
“The SPLA (IO) leadership has been for so long questioning the techniques, and the approaches, being used by the guarantors and the revitalized transional government of national unity (R-TGoNU) that are in the deaf ears, not even seeing the naughtiness of the regime against the will of the entire nation and still keeping quiet as if, nothing has been happening at the outskirts of Juba.” He continued.
According to the SPLA-IO spokesman, the SPLM/A-(IO) leadership still embraces peace and it is “working hard to save the nation from the wild beasts”, assuring to “protect the territories of the people’s movement from the regime’s encroachments’ policy.”
