Despite a long struggle after losing the first game to Kenya and being held to no score by Djibouti for the first 86 minutes of their game, South Sudan managed to scored 2 goals in the last 5 minutes of the match.

“The boys are through to the semifinals. The boys celebrating after scoring their second goals against Djibouti.” Said SSFA officials from Bahir Dar, Ethiopia.

The first goal was scored by Aluk Akeck in 87 minutes followed by a penalty shot by Dominic Angelo in 90+2 minutes to end the match 2-0 in favor of South Sudan.

Although looking excited, South Sudan U-23 manager Lugala Emmanuel Joseph had little to say over the semifinals.

Both South Sudan and Djibouti lost to Kenya with South Sudan losing to Kenya by two Nil on Wednesday and Djibouti losing to Kenya by 3 nil on Sunday last week.
