August 8th, 2019(Nyamilepedia) — A South African oil firm, Strategic Fuel Fund (SFF), in a statement seen by Nyamilepedia has submitted a Request for Proposal (RFP) aimed at conducting a pre-feasibility and feasibility analysis for South Sudan’s oil refinery project.
In May, the South African oil company, SFF, signed an Exploration and Production Sharing agreement (EPSA) with South Sudan’s Ministry of Petroleum- The deal agreed by the two countries was to see Block B2 being run by the Strategic Fuel Fund (SFF) for a period of six years.
South Sudan faces years of economic collapse, however, following the signing of the peace deal the country’s economy has gained momentum and currently produces over 160,000 barrels per day.
In recent months, the Government announced that, it’ planning to increase the levels of crude oil production capacity to 270,000 barrels per day by the end of the year.Â
South Sudan Government and opposition groups signed an agreement in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa in a bid to end years of civil war that has claimed thousands lives and uprooted millions people from their homes.
