The former deputy minister of defense and former political detainee, Dr. Majak Agot, broke his arm after slipping “over a wet rocky surface” over the weekend on Jebel Kunjur.

According to a short note posted on Dr. Majak’s twitter handle,  the former deputy minister of defense calls for more prayers and appreciates those who have already done so.

“Slipped over a wet rocky surface on Jebel Kujur and sustained a fractured arm while hiking. I’ve had a successful procedure tonight to fix my humerus in Juba – thanks to a team of South Sudanese orthopedic surgeons. Thank you for your prayers and messages of support!” He tweeted.

Despite a fractured humerus, Dr. Majak assures the public that he is recovering well and that he will be fine.

As the only hiking site in the capital, Juba, Jebel Kunjur has grown popular over the years as many politicians and athletes visit the site to hike and take selfies that they would later post on social media.
