Salva Kiir meets Central Equatoria Governor

September 09, 2020(Nyamilepedia) — South Sudan President, Salva Kiir, met the Governor of Central Equatoria State, Hon. Emmanuel Adil Anthony, today in the capital, Juba.

According to the insiders, the governor briefed president Kiir on matters of general security and peace implementation in Central Equatoria State.

“President Salva Kiir was briefed by the Governor of Central Equatoria State on Wednesday, Emmanuel Adil Anthony on the general security situation of his state as well as the implementation of the peace agreement in Central Equatoria.” Read part of the statement extended to Nyamilepedia.

Speaking to media after the meeting, Governor Emmanuel Adil said the security situation in most parts of Central Equatoria “is relatively improved with only minor crimes in some parts of Juba city”.

The governor of Central Equatoria State calls on the hold-out group led by Lt. Gen. Thomas Cirilo to stop waging a war on civilians.

“Emmanuel Adil called upon the group of Thomas Cirilo to cease from waging a war on civilians by attacking them on the highways.” Ateny Wek Ateny said.

Governor Adil calls on General Thomas Cirilo and his group to respect the Ceasefire Agreement that was signed by all parties in December 2017.

South Sudan is enjoying a relative peace from its main warring parties that are currently in Juba making baby-steps progresses that are being criticized by the peace guarantors and members of the International Community.
