S. Sudan to ‘temporarily’ suspend travels with China over coronavirus

March 4th 2020 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan government has announced that it would suspend direct travels with China over fear of deadly coronavirus.

Over 92,000 cases of the deadly virus has been confirmed worldwide by the World Health Organization (WHO) with more thn 80,000 in China alone.

Over 3,000 people have died as result of the virus which originated in China last December and spread to all the continents including Africa.

Speaking to Nyamilepedia this evening, a health ministry source said the East African country has asked the Chinese government to stop flights to Juba.

“The government has told China that there was need to temporarily suspend travels between the two countries,” the health ministry official said from Juba.

“This kind of virus us wild and it would have devastating effects once it enters this country,” the source added.
