June 16, 2020 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s minister of health Madam Elizabeth Achuei has accused Daniel Awet Akot for working to politicize the fight against COVID-19 days after the later called her incompetence.

Akot who is a senior member of the SPLM last week criticized Dr. Riek Machar Teny for appointing incapable and inexperienced people such as Achuei into ministries.

In response, Achuei said the SPLM-IG figure was working to politicize the fight against COVID-19 saying the ministry of health needs doctors and not politicians.

“It doesn’t know whether you are a politician or not, it’s our [enemy] all of us. And by the way, doctors are not supposed to be politicians but work to save lives. This is because you are a lifesaver,” Achuei said.

“Don’t bring politics to life [matters], because this disease doesn’t know politics.”
