Nov 8th, 2021 — The Center for Peace and Advocacy (CPA), a human rights organization based in Juba, South Sudan, calls on telecommunication networks to provide stronger and cheaper internet to the people of South Sudan, especially to the youth who are glued to their mobile phones 24-7.
According to the Executive Director of CPA, cheaper and stronger internet will help the youth to search and find jobs, and therefore internet should be considered as a primary need for the youth.
.”CPA urges telecommunication companies to provide cheap and strong internet for youth to get opportunities. MTN, Zain and Digitel to provide cheap and strong to users so that they can get job opportunities in the country, region, Africa and World at large.” Ter Manyang said.
The Executive Director, Ter Manyang Gatwech, appeals to the government of South Sudan to make serious regulations so that the services providers provide affordable internet to the South Sudanese citizens in order to explore the national, regional and global opportunities in the country.Â
“Internet is basic need for every nation. CPA Urge the MTN, Zain and Digitel internet is for everyone.” Ter said.
“Its help to shapes in business and public services and therefore, affordable internet will make to the economic growth for all in this country.” He added.
“East and West Africa region provide cheapest internet to their citizens. That’ why Nigerian, Kenyans, Ugandan and other dominate the regional and global opportunities.” He continued.
According to the CPA ED, faster internet will open up a wide range of opportunities that willl improve people lieves.
“CPA suggests to the Government, this regulation is necessary to make sure that everything is at the right line in the country.”
“Service Providers like MTN and Zain in South Sudan provide the poor and expensive internet compare to MTN in Uganda and Safaricom of Kenya which provide cheap and strong internet to the users.” Ter said.
